Color frightens me.

That being said, that's a ton of fucking fiber and it's all SO DAMN PRETTY. (Yeah, I went through dozens of Flickr photos.)

Probably like 12 pounds of it really. But I have more that needs to get listed for sale... this coming week...

I'm damn well sick of colour right now, after all the sock blend stuff I've done in February 07, the LONGEST MONTH EVAR.

Oh my. Pretty.

Downright gorgeous! I love the shine and it looks very soft.

If you dye that color blend again in Merino roving, please let us know!

Thank you, but it isn't my dye job! It's by Nancy Finn at Chasing Rainbows, and I bought the 2 ounce thing of top at Stitches West a year or two ago. A little more info...

I've been doing a fair amount of colour stuff myself lately, which is causing me colour burnout in some respects; a decided inability to look at my own fiber products, after working with them all day, and feel like doing ANYTHING with them. So I'm giving myself a break, and spinning a few things *other* people have done.

Beautiful! I didn't know tencel or merino either one had that much sheen. It's very nice.

Thanks! Tencel is interesting; I'm playing with it in a few ways lately. I had a few ounces of merino/tencel in a really indigo colour, that I spindle spun while moving, and subsequently have lost somewhere, and this caused me to decide I wanted to give it a bit more thought. I haven't gotten to the straight tencel, or doing my own blends including it yet, but likely will in March. It really does behave differently from most of the viscose-process rayons I've tried out; straight viscose top to spin is like short stapled bombyx fluff or something, only more staticky and with cotton-like inelasticity. While the lyocell (which has the sheen) is cottonlike in its tendency to simply snap due to overtwisting, and it reaches that point suddenly, it seems to be self-grabbing more than the viscose.

There's more gabble... lots more... on my blog here:
